Ruffle Sleeves

Happy Friday! Though I only had a 2.5-day work week (thanks Fourth of July…) I’m so happy it’s the weekend because I’m that much closer to the trip of a lifetime! Next weekend, I’m starting my cross-country journey – from Cincinnati to Chicago to Los Angeles – as my boyfriend Jack is moving to the City of Angels!

I’m. So. Excited.

As a result, I’ll be spending less time blogging and more time social media-ing our adventures … so be sure to follow along on my Insta stories.

Now onto the good stuff: Today’s outfit is one of my new summer favorites!

I never thought I could pull off the heels + shorts look (Mom always said it looked “hooker-ish” … LOL) but I’m so happy I tried it out. Though I’m only 5’4″ it looks like I have #LegzForDayz.

I’m obsessed with the pairing of black, white and army green. Plus the added element of surprise on the back of these block heel sandals! #TJMaxxScore

Romper of the Summer

My fashion philosophy for beating the summer heat hasn’t changed much since last year: rompers or bust.

Like most people, I jumped on the romper and jumpsuit bandwagon, and my wallet is paying for it. In addition to some faves from last summer (here and here) I’ve added a few new ones to this summer’s lineup. First on deck: this easy, breezy pink number!

The fabric of this romper is so breathable, perfect for the mugginess of the Queen City! And since it’s so basic (not in the PSL-loving way) it’s easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion.

For this look, I simply paired it with some bauble chandelier earrings in the same color scheme, a basic neutral purse and my favorite mule loafers. Easy peasy! And the perfect outfit to picture in front of OTR’s most colorful murals 🙂

EVER Skincare

EVER Skincare Review | Closet Full of Cocktails

Over the weekend, I received a surprising question: What’s your makeup routine? I was (happily) caught off guard by this because I had never received compliments on my skincare regimen before … probably because it was non-existent. I was constantly switching up my products and maintenance.

It was only until recently that I nailed down a solid routine after finally finding products I love! One of the newest additions to my collection: EVER Skincare.

EVER Skincare Review | Closet Full of Cocktails

As part of the Stella & Dot family brands, EVER has taken off by a tumultuous combo of social media and word-of-mouth buzz! The skincare line’s focus is on botanically based products that are free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic colors + fragrances, and more.

Not only have I added the critically acclaimed LAVISH Body Butter to my routine – Did you know there was a waitlist of 2,000+ people for this stuff? #CrazyTalk – the best part of my new routine has been the Total Eye Makeover set, which includes the REVIVE Intensive Eye Lift, DAYLIGHT Treatment Corrector and the DAYLIGHT Treatment Concealer.

It’s the definition of a triple-threat, tackling fine lines, dark circles and wrinkles in just 3 easy steps. And unlike other concealers, it’s not cakey or crease-prone. Don’t believe me? Check out some of the before & after pictures to see for yourself … this stuff works miracles, I swear!

Now that I’m an EVER believer, I can’t wait to try more of their fabulous products, like the award-winning REVEAL Biomimetic Peel Pads, the SMOOTH All Over Beauty Balm, or the PURIFY Deep Clean Detox Mask … Because who doesn’t love a good mask?

You can shop EVER Skincare online or find a local representative near you. And be sure to take the skin quiz to personalize your routine with the best products for you!

Thanks to my EVER representative Kate Delaney for providing me with samples and a LAVISH body butter as compensation for this review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Floral + Tassels + Stripes

Time for a riddle …

What do you get when you combine floral embroidery, rainbow tassels and pin stripes?

The most adorable, eye-catching blouse you ever did see!

While home in Buffalo for Memorial Day weekend, my mom and I went shopping … naturally. As we slowly passed by Anthropologie, we both did a double-take and started walking in reverse. Why you ask? Because we laid eyes on this gorgeous top at the same time!

Not only is it quite the looker, it’s also super lightweight and airy … perfect for the sticky Cincinnati summer ahead.

When styling this look, I wanted the blouse to be the statement, so I simply paired it with some white skinnies and nude block heels … then topped it off with some royal blue tassel earrings to pull it all together.

Spring Fling with Monkee’s of Madeira: Look #2

Now that you’ve seen the first look from the Spring Fling Fashion Show with Monkee’s, it’s time to unveil look #2. For those of you who have been following CFOC for a while, you know I’m a sucker for bright and colorful prints, especially florals. Well, paisley is no exception!

My eye was immediately drawn to this Jude Connally t-shirt dress … I’m pretty sure it’s the first thing I touched when I walked into Monkee’s! The nylon + spandex material is extremely comfortable and lightweight for those hot summer days ahead.

To avoid overwhelming the look, I simply paired the dress with these suede pink heels and some silver statement earrings.

A big thank you to Liz and Olivia at Monkee’s of Madeira for inviting me to join in on the Spring Fling festivities. Modeling is way more fun when you get to do it in beautiful clothes! Amirite? 🙂

Spring Fling with Monkee’s of Madeira: Look #1

Last week, I had the pleasure modeling at the Kenwood Country Club’s Ladies Spring Fling with Annie of Success on Stilettos and Kayla of The Professional Prep. Together, we wandered the luncheon wearing fabulous looks fashioned by Monkee’s of Madeira.

Monkee’s is a franchise of clothing boutiques, each carrying a collection of upscale designers and brands, like Draper James, Lilly Pulitzer, Jude Connally and Jack Rogers.

It was love at first sight when I stumbled upon a Monkee’s on Davidson College’s campus, so when I found out there was one in Cincinnati, I had to check it out!

For my first of two fashion show looks – #2 coming soon – I styled these uber comfortable white skinnies with an adorable OTS blouse. Finished off the look with my favorite summer wedges and some subtle jewelry, and voila!
